Artificiata is an international online publication, promoting exhibitions and texts within the context of contemporary art.
There is a monthly edited section, in which contributors are invited to write exhibition reviews as well as more open-format texts about art. The edited section is hosted by Antonia Rebekka Truninger and Julia Hegi, who invite writers to write within three different categories: the exhibition report, the dream and the confession.
The exhibition report is a form that invites to write about an exhibition, observing its visitors, the gossip, political structures, and art-world peculiarities through a personal lens.
The dream offers space for reflections on the unconscious or subconscious relationships to art.
The confession can be read as a love-letter, break-up letter or fan-mail directed at an artist, or person in the art-world. The person can be dead or alive, real or fictional.
Artificiata aspires to offer more possibilities and perspectives for writing about art and is a critical and literary writing project that can develop over time. The text categories proposed by the editors should be understood as inspiration rather than strict boundaries.
